The Mustang had the brakes replaced and decals applied this weekend, and its ready to go!
I took the tags to the DMV today to turn them in, so that the Big Man can drop insurance on the car. The lady at the counter looked at me funny, and asked, “What happened to the car?”
I replied as the Big Man had told me, “It is no longer a street car.”
“Oh,” she said, “You mean its farm equipment now?”
Seriously, I wish I had thought to show her a picture then
And congrats to all the FiestaMovement winners so far!
Saw a Tweet that the cars were in Baltimore, so I had to drive over and get a sneak peek. Snazzy little cars!
I wish it had been sunny out, the colors are vibrant (pics dont do them justice at all).
Check it out (links to my album as well!)
FiestaMovement car in Baltimore
If anyone is interested, the magenta and silver were manuals, the green a shiftable automatic. The green also had “spokey” looking wheels, of which I am usually not a fan, but in this case, I think I liked those better than the others.
Here is a little bit about myself, my background and life, and the reasons that I think I would be a good “Agent” for Ford and the Fiesta Movement. (Told here, because my voice is too raspy right now to do a proper video.)
I live in Maryland and spend most of my weekends traveling by car to various social functions. I was raised by a Ford family. My grandfather owned only Fords, and even now my parents own a Ranger, a motorhome on a Ford chassis and a restored-by-my-father 1929 Model A Ford. My very first ride in a car was in a Pinto and I have a collection of Ford toy antique trucks on display in the West Virginia cabin. My “dream car” is a 1947 Ford Pickup and I am presently trying to save up to buy an old Pinto race car.
I never expected to be a “car person” but at some point, after I met my boyfriend, it was just the natural progression of things. We are both WRC, Nascar, ALMS and F1 fans. We currently participate in the SCCA Mid-Atlantic Road Racing Series where I crew-chief for his Showroom Stock Mini Cooper S and American Sedan 2008 Mustang GT. Until the Mustang GT went into the shop for race-prep, I used to be able to drive that car. I could use that car for autocross, Rallycross, track days, etc. Now I am left without a “sporty” ride. I would love to take that new Fiesta to these and give the car enthusiasts there a glimpse of what is to come. I would also enjoy taking the Fiesta ON the track and in the dirt for track days and Rallycrosses. . . Ford permitting, of course.
I have many friends (both male and female) that enjoy their cars beyond just “as a mode of transportation”. We take pride in our vehicles and like to show them off. Similarly though we have all seen the exciting and stylish Ford vehicles offered in other markets and have longed for their release here. The new Fiesta – from what I have seen and read – really seems to be one of these vehicles that have traditionally been out of our grasp. Whereas an AWD Focus in Wimbledon white and a rally package would be the ideal, a lime green Fiesta would fit the bill nicely!
I spend a great deal of time in my car commuting from southern Maryland to Baltimore City to work, where I spend my days behind a computer monitor working on special projects and dabbling in social media. With so much time spent in a car, I need my ride to not only be comfortable, economical and safe, but it really also needs to be FUN to drive. Why not enjoy the many miles on the road?
A bit more about myself, I am a computer geek, I sew and create costumes, I camp and fish and travel, and I am a bellydancer. I am fashionable and like to have fun. I have a fairly fast paced life and like cars with personality. So why should I be chosen to join the Fiesta movement? I live cars, love cars, and would be a fantastic person to test out the new Fiesta and spread the word about the Fiesta Movement!
